Terms of service

The deal

Last updated: 25 July 2026 · Dipling · Hungary

Plain terms for a service that is currently free. By using Lauther — the app, the API, or this website — you agree to what follows.

1. Who provides Lauther

Lauther is provided by Dipling, Hungary (“we”, “us”). Contact: hello@lauther.id.

2. What Lauther does

Lauther delivers notifications to your device and lets websites and apps identify you by a pseudonymous, per-service identifier instead of an email address. Using it requires an account, which exists so you can recover your identities if you lose your device.

3. Your account

4. Acceptable use

Don't use Lauther to:

Anonymity is not impunity. Pseudonymous identities exist to protect ordinary people from over-collection, not to shield abuse. We will suspend accounts and services that abuse the network, and we will cooperate with lawful requests where we are obliged to.

5. If you operate a service

When you register a service and connect users through Lauther, you also agree that you will:

6. Availability, and what we don't promise

Lauther is currently offered free of charge and without a service level agreement. We work to keep it reliable, but we do not guarantee that every notification will be delivered, delivered on time, or delivered at all. Delivery depends on Google's and Apple's push networks, your device, its battery settings and its network — all outside our control.

Please don't make Lauther the only thing standing between you and a catastrophe. If a missed message would be dangerous or very expensive — medical, life-safety, or financial systems — keep an independent alerting path as well. That advice would be the same for any push service.

7. Changes to the service

We may add, change or remove features, and we may introduce paid plans. If we ever charge for something that is free today, we will give you clear notice first and you will not be billed without agreeing. Features that protect your security — account recovery, biometric protection, revoking a service — will stay free.

8. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Lauther at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account or service that breaks these terms, endangers other users, or exposes us to legal risk — normally with notice, and immediately where the harm is serious.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Lauther is provided “as is”, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss arising from a message that was delayed or not delivered. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death, personal injury, or fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

10. Intellectual property

The Lauther name, logo and software are ours. The content you send and receive remains yours. Documentation and integration examples may be used freely to build against the API.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Hungarian law, and the courts of Hungary have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protections of your home country's law and may bring proceedings there.
